Cushing’s disease in horses, now more accurately called Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID), is a common endocrine disorder, especially in older horses. It’s managed through a combination of medication, diet, and supportive care. Here's a breakdown:   1. Medication The cornerstone of PPID management: Pergolide mesylate (brand name Prascend) A dopamine agonist that reduces the production of ACTH from the pituitary.
